Product Information

Quote by Claude Monet (14 November 1840 – 5 December 1926) was a French painter, a founder of French Impressionist painting and the most consistent and prolific practitioner of the movement's philosophy of expressing one's perceptions before Nature, especially as applied to plein air landscape painting. The term "Impressionism" is derived from the title of his painting Impression, soleil levant (Impression, Sunrise), which was exhibited in 1874 in the first of the independent exhibitions mounted by Monet and his associates as an alternative to the Salon de Paris.

The house and gardens, where Monet lived and painted for 43 years in Giverny, France provided inspiration to Monet. It is the second most visited tourist site in Normandy after the Mont Saint-Michel. The estate was classified as a monument historique in 1976.

Monet's paintings of the gardens, and of the sites' water lilies and the accompanying pond, bridge, and Weeping Willow tree, are exhibited in dozens of major collections.

The leaves are perfect for all year round use in the garden, hanging from trees, fixed to a wall or fence. Even perfect for Christmas hanging from your tree or the mantlepiece. Why not hang inside during the festive season then outside for the rest of the year?

Part of a series of tree leaves featuring unexpected and charming, sometimes seasonal quotes. Available singly. Each has a 3mm hole on the stalk. They can be hung using nylon line or string. Supplied flat. Can also be simply bent by hand or with pliers for a naturalistic effect.
